RAPA Drama 2016/2017!

Welcome back to RAPA Drama 2016/2017! newsletterLast year was an extremely busy and happy year of Speech & Drama. Feis Dhun Dealgain was once again held in the  Blackrock Community Centre. I am very grateful to Fr Brian and the community centre staff for their care and attention, however, we did have some problems with noise from outside and some ‘little terrors’ banging on windows. It is very difficult to secure a venue that is big enough to hold three performance rooms, with the Movement to Music finale needing a large stage and room size. I am currently investigating different venues. The worry I  have is, would people travel to Dundalk for the Feis? It is so important to support your children in competitive performance as it is an important milestone in the development of personal and communication skills, which are of so much real value in later life.

Congratulations to all who participated, you were fun, competitive, successful and very supportive of your fellow students, well done!

Grade Examinations
will take place  in March, 2017, to be confirmed. Those students participating in Royal Irish Academy exams may have to travel to Dublin for examination. To be confirmed.

Feis Dhun Dealgain, 2017 will take place on the 28th & 29th January. We celebrate 20 years of Feis Dhun Dealgain this year. Students from the previous twenty years are being invited to compete in an adult competition to celebrate the occasion. We shall ‘party’ afterward. It ought to be great fun and interesting to see where they are now!
